BLUE STOCKINGS AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY'S TISCH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

This past semester I have had the great pleasure of being a member of the cast of "Blue Stockings", a new play by British playwright Jessica Swale.  It follows the story of four women in 1896 fighting for their right to graduate from Cambridge- the school they study hard for but which does not issue them degrees because of their gender.  It is being directed by Tony Award Nominee Michele Shay and produced at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in the Burrows Theater at 721 Broadway.  Saturday night we were graced by Phylicia Rashad who was kind enough to stay post performance and congratulate each of us on our work!  It has been a wonderful experience telling an important story about the power of education and gender equality in an age where there is so much work yet to be done.  Tickets are sold out but waitlisting is effective!  We have a show every night from November 17th to the 21st.
